Victoria Slome

Victoria is an ArtPop rep and a parent docent at Ho-Ho-Kus School, where her two children are students. A singer and violinist, she holds a bachelor's degree in violin from Codarts Rotterdam and a master's degree from the Royal College of Music in London. She has performed locally with the Ridgewood Symphony and Pro Arte Chorale, as well as internationally, and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in opera performance, specializing in Russian Soviet-era vocal repertoire. A music teacher, Victoria believes art is where the ethereal becomes tangible: a dream given paint, stone, or sound. Every artwork reflects what was in the air at the time, and the way to understand it is to get every sense involved, pairing a painting with the music and poetry written alongside it and the artifacts of daily life, from clothing to household objects. Her heart is with the medieval and Renaissance periods, when storytelling, music, and art were one ecosystem. Above all, she's passionate about making art fun and memorable for kids.
