The 2026 Kate Sasso Memorial Art Contest
ARTPOP is thrilled to announce the launch of our annual event for 4th graders in ARTPOP schools.
Held each year in February, this art contest is in honor of one of our long-time active contributors who passed away.
The contest is open to all 4th graders at participating ARTPOP member schools.
Each year submissions must fit the chosen theme for that year. This year's theme is in commemoration and celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 - "America the Beautiful".
All entries will be on display at the Ridgewood library in March.
Prizes are rewarded to the winners. Previous prizes have included Art Classes at the Ridgewood Art Institute and gift certificates at Blick Art Supply Store.
February 2-26, 2026 - Contest Submission Dates
A collection box will be available at the Midland Park Library to submit your entry.
All entries must include an completed entry form attached to artwork.

Thursday, Feb 26, 2026 at 5pm - Deadline for Entries!
March 2, 2026 - Judging
Winners will be notified in March.
All artwork submissions will be available for public viewing in the Ridgewood Library Children's Room throughout the month of March. Submitted artwork will be returned to the child’s school in April via their respective ARTPOP Rep.

1st Place: $100 Blick Gift Certificate & Ridgewood Art Institute Gift Certificate for 3 free classes
2nd Place: $75 Blick Gift Certificate & Ridgewood Art Institute Gift Certificate for 2 free classes
3rd Place: $50 Blick Gift Certificate & Ridgewood Art Institute Gift Certificate for 1 free class
Honorable Mention: $25 Blick Gift Certificate
